Vacation Housing

Skidmore College operates on a two-semester academic calendar (Fall and Spring) as well as two shorter terms in the summer (May-August). Classes begin each fall in the first week of September and conclude in approximately the third week of December. The spring semester begins approximately the third week of January and concludes in the second week of May.

The Office of the Registrar posts current and future academic year calendars for the benefit of all students (and families) making advanced travel plans. Students should pay special attention to the dates when campus housing opens and closes each term.

Campus housing is available for students who cannot travel home during the following vacation breaks:

• American Thanksgiving (approximately the third week of November)
• Winter Break (between semesters)
• Spring Vacation (approximately the second week of March)
