Molly Burt Westvig

Molly Burt-Westvig is the 2024 Work+Space resident in the Skidmore College Art Department. Burt-Westvig is a visual artist whose practice spans modes and media, from painting and photography to video and installation. Her work bridges the immaterial experiences of the digital with the embodied presence of our physical world through projected video, sculpture and salvaged objects. 

Burt-Westvig earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Drawing at the University of Iowa in 2014, and a Masters of Fine Art in Painting from Tyler School of Art at Temple University in 2024.  Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions, including To Trace a Sunbeam at Temple Contemporary, and Spectral Feel at Fjord Gallery, both in Philadelphia, PA, 2024; and Color(less), at Ely Center for Contemporary Art, New Haven, CT, also 2024.

She is the recipient of numerous fellowships and residencies, including an upcoming residency at Studios at MassMoCA in 2025.
