Announcements

Residential Life early arrival requests 

‌Departments sponsoring students (athletes, peer mentors, student workers, and others) for early arrival housing for the fall term should send requests to Residential Life by Aug. 7. Please include a list of sponsored students with student ID and anticipated arrival date. Students requesting an early arrival must have a fall 2024 on-campus housing assignment. 

‌Facilities updates 

‌Facilities Services will be changing out all paper towel and toilet paper product dispensers through July 22. On Saturday, July 13, Facilities Services will be seal coating and restriping lower Palamountain parking lot (the rain date will be Sunday, July 14). During this time frame, the lower Palamountain lot will be closed. The upper Palamountain lot will remain open. 

‌Bike for free with CDPHP Cycle ‌ ‌ ‌

‌Get free access to pedal bikes and e-bikes (free for the first 30 minutes) by downloading the CDPHP Cycle app and subscribing with a Skidmore email address. Submit promo code "Skidmore," enter a credit card, and you're ready to ride. E-bikes parked outside of Cycle! racks are charged a $2 convenience fee. There are racks on Case Walkway and at the southeast corner of Northwoods Apartments. Contact the Sustainability Office with questions. 

‌Skidmore employee discount at SPAC

‌As part of Skidmore’s partnership with Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), all employees are eligible to receive a 20% discount on ticket purchases to New York City Ballet (July 9-13) and Philadelphia Orchestra (July 31-Aug. 3) performances. Use the promotion code SKIDMORE. This discount cannot be applied to Live Nation concerts or other performances.

 

‌Idea Lab summer hours 

‌The Schupf Family IdeaLab is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, in room 101 of the Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences. Contact Darren Prodger with questions.

‌Dining Services summer hours

‌The Spa is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A breakfast menu is available from 8 to 11 a.m.; hot soup and a deli menu are available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Grab-and-go items are sold in Burgess Café. More information about Dining Services' hours of operation is available on the Dining Services website. ‌ ‌ ‌‌

‌Pop-up grill ‌ 

‌Dining Services offers a pop-up grill on Porter Plaza, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. The grill menu features hotdogs, burgers (both beef and plant-based), and grilled chicken sandwiches. A combo meal includes your choice of a grill item, two sides, and a beverage for $7.99. In the case of rain, the pop-up grill will be relocated to inside The Spa. ‌‌

‌Summer Bulletin publication schedule

Through Aug. 21, the Bulletin will be distributed to faculty and staff only. Submit announcements and events by completing the online form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday. Submissions to the Faculty-Staff Achievements section are not accepted over the summer. Please email swb@sipinglq.com if you have questions.
