Community Service and Engagement
Each year, approximately 50 percent of Skidmore students participate in community service and fundraising activities, and our faculty teach more than 20 Applied Civic Engagement (ACE) courses.
The Career Development Center (CDC) facilitates civic engagement for individuals, clubs, teams, and academic departments, acting as a liaison to 40+ nonprofit agencies in Saratoga Springs as well as regional and national organizations. From healthcare and social services, to environmental action and the arts, Skidmore students volunteer in a variety of ways and give back thousands of hours a year through service.
Students interested in community service opportunities can arrange for transportation assistance through the CDC to volunteer locations.

Inspire positive change
Whether you have an idea in mind, or are looking for a way to get involved, give back, and gain some experience along the way, we're here to help you, or your club, team, or class make the connection. Projects vary in duration, ranging from a few hours or a day to those requiring a consistent commitment of a few hours each week.
Non-pROFITS
Let's partner for good
We welcome outreach from non-profits who are seeking volunteers. Whether it's for a few hours, days, a full semester, or more, our students are interested in getting involved, learning more about the local community, and taking action on their passions. Many also have civic engagement requirements to fullfill and you might be answer they've been looking for!
